Sarabi has made for an exciting year at the Bonnie Springs Zoo. Since her arrival in June, we have received numerous comments, both online and in-person, praising her inclusion at the zoo, and we could not be happier to have welcomed her to the family. An African serval cat, Sarabi has brought greater natural and aesthetic diversity to the zoo and continues to offer our staff the opportunity to work with a remarkable species. Though largely unknown to the public, the serval cat represents one of sub-Saharan Africa’s most remarkable creatures, and Sarabi is no exception. She remains as impressive and interesting an animal as we have ever seen, and it has been our privilege to care for her. We can’t believe she has already grown up!
We would also like to express our thanks to everyone who donated and participated during the contest that gave Sarabi such a beautiful name. If you’re still feeling sore that your name didn’t win, stop by and give Sarabi a visit; we’re certain you will be impressed! The zoo runs according to its usual hours during the winter, so bring the whole family out and say “hello” to all of the faces, snouts, and beaks at Bonnie Springs.
